I have a 9.1.4 home theater setup. I use both the $12 per ft. Transparent Audio 10 AWG speaker cables, and the KnuKonceptz 10 AWG cables. The sound comes through loud and clear through both. I have used a lot of different speaker cable brands over the years, including Monster, who experimented with different copper strand windings to improve efficiency and transmission across the sound spectrum, including bass signals. But my high end Monster cables are only 14 AWG, which have a little less than half the copper of 10 AWG cables. 14 AWG X 2 = 11 AWG, according to one conversion table I read. For short cable runs, the signal falloff is nominal. For longer runs, the thicker 10 AWG cables are optimal. With the advent of automatic room correction software such as the Audyssey MultEQ in my Marantz AV processor, even if a speaker cable doesn't carry a perfectly flat signal across the entire sound spectrum, the processor can compensate for this with EQ adjustments. I am not an audio expert, and I am confident that the Transparent Audio cables have been engineered to more efficiently carry amplified audio signals; However, to the ear, these KnuKonceptz cables carry a strong signal over long distances, and sound just as awesome as the more expensive cables at 1/12 the expense. The KnuKonceptz cable strands are not wound, which actually reduces the distance the signal has to be carried. The only minor complaint I have about these cables, is that the powder coating on the inner cable jackets (one is black, the other is white) causes them to slide through the outer sleeve too easily. One will recess into the outer sleeve while I am applying a banana plug to the other, then I have to tug on the recessed cable to get the two cables back to even. This was a minor annoyance, and definitely not a dealbreaker. I highly recommend these cables and the KnuKonceptz 10 AWG "Y" pants.
